growing since 1965

it's always a good time with my Anderson clan. this group is the reason why I am grateful for eternal families. anderson family reunion was spent these last three days up at heber valley camp! And no offense to past girls camps which were super fun, but it was at least 95% more enjoyable with the family ;)
Food, crafts, volleyball, hikes, food, canoes, upset tummies, paddle boats, more food, testimony meetings, campfires, challenge courses, tics, have I mentioned food, nature, tics, swimming, flowers, genuine family bonding time.
Whatever the activity, it's sure to be done with a smile. I'm so grateful for my grandma and grandpa who have been the best examples of making family a priority, and to focus on the things that will really bring us true joy out of life. I love them to pieces. Prepare yourself, I have a thousand pictures like always. But I just can't help to not document these priceless memories! Hope you all had a fantastic 24th of July! Happy Pioneer Day. :)

Truly, truly facing my fears.

This sweet mamma of mine.

Our lanterns. (plus a tender moment accidentally captured in the back ground.)

P.S.
These adorable home-made lanterns?
glass jars
modge-podge
tissue paper
(with a small candle placed inside after modge-podge has dried)

 Ah, these two.

Our own little sacred grove.

Stinging nettle makes for a real pretty field.

Love these love-birds.

And it all started with these two.
Growing since 1965.
I hope to a family just like theirs one day.

Thanks to my beautiful Aunt (who looks more like my little sister) Emily, for planning this fun reunion for everyone to enjoy. Seriously, your hard work paid off!!!

liebster award. Lots about me!

LIEBSTER AWARD
The definition:
Liebster is German for sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome. How nice is that?
Blogging is about building a community and it's a great way to connect with other bloggers and help spread the word about newer bloggers and blogs.

The Rules:
1. Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog and link back to the blogger who presented this award to you.
2. Answer the 11 questions from your nominator, list 11 random facts about yourself, and create 11 questions for your nominees.
3. Present the Liebster Blog Award to 11 other blogs who you feel deserve to be noticed and leave a comment on their blog to let them know they have been chosen.
4. Copy/Paste the blog award on your blog.

Yay! Thank you sweet Emma, and Ashley for nominating my blog.

Emma's Q's:

1. What is your favorite book?
So I love reading.
BUT I have to go with anything Nicholas Sparks wrote,
or "The Children of the Promise" series. If you haven't read them, DO IT. You won't regret it.
Romance, action, drama, suspense, history, all wrapped up into one story.
I am obsessed, and also I own every single book (plus all of the books in the sequel series.) Feel free to come borrow anytime. :)

2. If you could go back in time to one day of your life, when would it be and why?
The time I did something really embarrassing and UNDO it. Because I'm the type of person who, when I remember an instance of embarrassment I experience the same humiliating, awkward feelings all. over. again. X10!! haha i'm a weirdo but I hate it. And I don't even get embarrassed that easy! It's usually after the instance, when i'm laying in bed late at night thinking about my day and I'll realize some of the stupid things I did or said, and my cheeks literally burn. Someone help me.

3. If you had $1 million what would you do?
Ah, easy. Pay for college! (Yes, I have a scholarship, but it's an incentive loan so I actually have to teach for how many years they pay for my school. And don't get me wrong I want to teach!! The catch is it has to be in Utah. Paying for it by myself would just relieve that pressure.) And pay for my study abroad. Then put the rest in savings.... okay, okay mayyyyybe buy a few clothes that I don't need anymore of. Send Elder C. some awesome packages. THEN the rest goes in my "future garden fund." I'm telling you I WILL have an extravagant beautiful yard, it's always been my dream. (Picture the one that the mom from 17 Again designs in her back yard.) Yup, thats about it.

4. Would you rather be too hot or too cold?
Too hot for sure!! I hate the cold. (except it's a love-hate relationship because I actually get to wear cuter clothes in the fall haha.) But I love the heat. Especially humid heat. One of my favorite parts of visiting the Philippines and Mexico was how humid it was.

5. What is your biggest goal in life?
To be the best little house-wife/ mother there ever ever was. I don't even care that it's cliche.

6. Favorite Quote?
"Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy it does not boast. It is not proud, is not rude, is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love doesn't delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

7. If you could meet one person alive or dead who would it be?
Oh. So so hard to choose just one. Probably my mother when she was my age. Does that count?

8. What is love?
Refer to question 6.
Oh, and Jordan Carver... ya he's love :)

9. What are you the most afraid of?
So many things it isn't even funny. WHIMP ALERT. but MOST MOST MOST is probably losing someone close to me. I don't know how I'd cope.

10. What is your favorite smell?
Johnsons & Johnsons pink baby lotion.

11. Why do you blog?
It's sort of my on-line journal. I love writing. I love pictures. I love cutsie things. It's just my little space to let it all out and be myself. :)

Ashley's Q's:

1. What is one food you couldn't live without?
Cafe Rio Salad or ice-cream.

2. If you could go anywhere in the world by any means of transportation, where would it be and how?
I don't know. Honestly :(

3. You've invented a candy. What's it called? What does it taste like?
Honestly it's already been invented... They are called Sour Patch Watermelons and they taste like heaven.

4. Three celebrities you want to be best friends with?
Jana Kramer, Alana Blanchard, Mark Foster.

5. Most irrational fear that you have?
Sharks. I don't even live by an ocean.

6. What is your favorite line of song lyrics?
"Here I am staring, at your perfection in my arms, so beautiful."
Melts my heart every time.

7. One movie you wish you had been cast in?
Hands down The Notebook. So I could wear their cute outfits, I am OBSESSED with the clothes in that movie! I was born in the wrong era.

8. What item on your bucket list are you most excited to complete?
Going on a study abroad! (positive thinking)

9. Least favorite TV show?
The Bachelor. Like are you kidding me? You don't find love in a game on a freaking t.v. show. Obviously since none of them work out. . . JK I don't even hate it that bad I just didn't know what to pick.

10. What Disney princess are you most like?
I wish I was like any of them cause they can all sing.

11. What is your pet peeve?
Listening to people chew, or breathe weird. :/ I seriously believe that I have Misophonia.

Because I answered TWO sets of questions I think i've talked plenty about myself so i'm going to skip the 11 random facts.

beat the heat

Hey, it may not be Huntington Beach but when it is 100 plus degrees outside our local little pine view will do just fine! :) I've grown up with it only being a 40 minute drive away and have spent many summers boating, having picnics, sunbathing, and watching romantic sunsets on the "beach" haha. Definitely a beat-the-heat go to. So no, the water may not be aqua blue, (and actually you can't even see your toes if your standing in it, yuck) and there ARE tales of the deathly tiger-muskees, but it is one of those places that holds special memories for me. We all have them right?
I was lucky enough to have my two littlest sisters come hang out at the beach with my friends the other day. Honestly love them so much and wouldn't trade them for the world!
(and lets be honest this was actually a few weeks ago.)
yikes. Blogging has pretty much been the last thing on my mind lately, I'm a busy girl! But this semester is super close to being done and I take the praxis math AGAIN at the end of this month, third time is a charm... right?! It better be haha. Fall semester starts at the end of August, and you guys i'm crossing my fingers and toes that I will figure out a place to go for spring semester... abroad! I'm going to make it happen, watch me. Which is, most definitely out of my comfort zone. Jessica, going out of the country and living there by herself for four months?? It's unheard of. I barely lasted one semester living ONE HOUR away! But i'm a little older and wiser now?? haha not really, but I really do want to make this happen, and i'm super excited. (so does anyone please want to come with me?)
Also, my family is bomb. So I am taking my CHF final early for them, AND  a math test this week so I can go to the... ANDERSON FAMILY REUNION next week. Heck ya! Pretty much, I have a lot of studying to do. I've grounded myself from my phone for the next two days until i'm done. (I'll never admit that instagram stalking waists any of my time but... lets be honest)

Okay, study break over! Good thing I just gave you a great idea of how to beat-the-heat now that it's been overcast and stormy for the past week.

(ps. Emma Phelps nominated my blog for a Liebster Award, how sweet is she? And I promise when I have these tests out of my hair I will respond to it and answer her questions.) :)
